Terms
Last updated October 15, 2026
Nakiri is run by Samuel Colao. By using it, you agree to these terms. They're short, so please read them.
Your account
- Anyone 13 or older can make an account. An account belongs to one person and one household's kitchen.
- Keep your password and any assistant keys to yourself. You're responsible for what's done with them. If one gets out, change the password or revoke the key in Settings, where you can also disconnect any assistant.
- You must be 13 or older to use Nakiri.
Your data
What you put in Nakiri stays yours. You let Nakiri store it and process it to run the service, including sending it to the services listed in the privacy policy, and you let your household see and change it.
AI can be wrong
Nakiri uses AI to read receipts, photos and what you say, and to suggest and check recipes. It can misread, miscount or suggest something unsuitable. Check what it shows before relying on it, and use your own judgment about food safety, allergies and whether food is still good. The foods to avoid list is a help, not a guarantee. Nakiri does not give medical or nutrition advice.
Assistants you connect
An assistant you connect acts for you, within what you allowed it. Its maker's own terms apply to it. Nakiri isn't responsible for what an assistant does or says. Every change it makes in Nakiri is listed under Settings, and what it deletes can be put back from Recently deleted for 30 days.
Fair use
- Don't try to reach another household's data, break or overload the service, or get around its limits.
- Don't scrape it, resell it, or copy it to build a competing service.
- AI features have a daily limit per person, because each call costs money: a small amount of AI use each day, and the head chef once a day.
An account that breaks these terms may be suspended or closed.
The service
Nakiri is free for now and run by one person, Samuel Colao. It may change, gain or lose features, or stop. If it is going to shut down, you'll be told in the app ahead of time where possible, with time to ask for a copy of your data. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
No guarantees
Nakiri is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. As far as the law allows, Samuel Colao isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for food that spoiled, was wasted or was eaten on the strength of something Nakiri showed. Nothing here limits rights the law of your country gives you that can't be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute about them or about Nakiri will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it somewhere else.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it, and a change that matters will be pointed out in the app. Using Nakiri after a change means you accept it.
